Today’s athlete spotlight, Trevor Kardell, is a member of the successful Kansas Jayhawks football team, which gained national recognition last season. The team had a strong start by winning their first five games, which resulted in College Game Day coming to their game against TCU. Trevor attributes their success to the support from both his teammates and fans. The team was turned around by second-year head coach, Lance Leipold, and continues to grow. Trevor initially planned to play baseball when he came to KU, but eventually focused on football due to his dedication and effort for the program. One of his standout moments was an incredible catch during the 4th quarter against the Texas Longhorns (as seen in the video below). The Jayhawks would go on to win this game 57-56 in overtime. Besides the David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, Trevor’s favorite place to play was the Liberty Bowl in Memphis against Arkansas. When he is not playing football, Trevor enjoys golfing with friends and playing games with his family. He and the Jayhawks are determined to continue improving and making a name for themselves in the upcoming season.
